History

The idea for Baton Twirling on Ice was conceived by a local amateur ice skater, John Holden. After watching a Majorette troupe in the Lytham Club Day procession, he felt that baton twirling could be integrated into ice skating to form another avenue for non-competitive ice skaters who still wished to perform and enjoy the sport.

John established the team in September 1998 at the Blackpool Ice Arena.

The team members were drawn from skaters who John trained in one of the Blackpool Ice Figure Skating Club amateur show teams.

Originally, the team was a part of Blackpool Ice Figure Skating Club but subsequently the team became a sub-division of Blackpool Ice Dance Club.
